Rex King K stood outside the laboratory like it was just another storefront on Coruscant… but it wasn’t. This place had no signs, no neon holo-billboards, no welcome mat. Just a smooth black structure tucked into the Arizona desert like it had fallen from space and decided to stay quiet about it. The air around it shimmered slightly, like heat waves, but Rex knew better. That wasn’t heat. That was a shield. He adjusted his coat, the one with the hidden credit-chip pocket stitched inside, and looked over at Kate. “You sure this is the right lab?” she asked, squinting at the entrance. Rex smirked. “Baby… if it’s hidden, expensive, and illegal on at least five planets… it’s the right lab.” Kate laughed, but her laugh faded fast when the lab door opened by itself. No keypad. No guards. No voice prompt. Just a silent hiss and a long hallway of white light. They walked in. The hallway felt too clean, too sterile, like the building didn’t even recognize dirt as a concept.
